No, you don’t need a developer to set up Localize’s Basic Platform as long as you are able to insert a single line of JavaScript into the header of the pages you need translated. Setup can be done in just a few clicks, and only needs to be set up once.

Localize’s Basic Platform includes built-in access to three top-tier machine translation engines including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. You don’t need to setup or configure anything, simply select your preferred machine translation engine in Localize’s dashboard.

Hosted words refer to the translated words Localize serves to your visitors. While the Basic Platform gives you unlimited hosted words, your usage is measured by pageviews, which means that each time the Localize snippet is initialized will count toward your monthly usage.
